Jill Ellsworth, CEO Willow Industries

//Jill Ellsworth is the founder and CEO of Willow Industries. She is a creative and dynamic serial entrepreneur, with a proven track record of building and scaling companies in the health and safety sector. Jill has a background in science and consumer safety. As a Registered Dietitian with a Master of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Science, she began her career in the food and beverage industry. She built and sold one of Santa Barbara’s first cold press juice companies, Vibrant Earth Juices, which resulted in her being named Female Entrepreneur of the Year in Emerging Business by the Santa Barbara Women’s Economic Ventures group.

In 2015, Jill founded the beverage distribution company, Vibrant Earth Distribution, which launched the first alcoholic kombucha brand in Colorado. Jill sold her second company in 2016 to a larger, local beverage distribution company, and after noticing a market opportunity to strengthen health and safety standards in the legal cannabis industry, she shifted her energies to commercializing her science and consumer safety expertise in this emerging market.

With a goal of bringing a kill step to cannabis, in 2015, Jill founded Willow Industries, the first cannabis microbial decontamination company in the US, based in Denver, CO. Willow Industries’ organic, patented, ozone-based technology is currently being leveraged by cannabis producers and brands in 26 states and Canada.

As CEO, Jill’s vision is to continue to scale Willow by evolving and innovating the WillowPure product line, with a continued emphasis on building a world-class team. Her mission and priority remain the same; protect consumers and patients by helping producers put clean, safe products on the market.

In this interview, Jill shares how she and her husband work together and maintain boundaries between work and home life, one of the biggest keys to her success, and how her top priority shifted from customers to her team over the past couple of years.
